Information We Collect
Ferry Finder is designed to work without accounts, sign-ins, or personal data. We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts, or any other identifying information.
The app stores your last search preferences (origin, destination, date, and time) locally on your device only, so your selections are remembered between sessions. This information is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
If you contact us directly by email, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message (such as your email address and its contents).
How We Use Your Information
Because Ferry Finder does not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to use, profile, or analyze. The locally stored search preferences are used solely to pre-fill your next search within the app on your own device.
To show you current ferry and train schedules, the app downloads public GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) schedule data from our server at gthree.io. This is a one-way download of public timetable files and does not include any information about you.
If you email us, we use that information only to respond to your question or request.
Data Storage and Retention
Search preferences are stored locally on your device using standard app storage and are never uploaded to our servers. This data is retained on your device until you clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or overwrite it with a new search — we have no ability to access, retrieve, or delete it remotely because we never receive it.
We do not operate a server-side account or database of user data. Emails you send us are retained only as long as needed to handle your inquiry.
Third-Party Services
Ferry Finder uses the following third-party services:
- Apple In-App Purchases — for subscription billing on iOS. Apple processes and stores your payment information under Apple's own privacy policy; we never receive your card details.
- Google Play Billing — for subscription billing on Android. Google processes and stores your payment information under Google's own privacy policy; we never receive your card details.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not share data with any third party for marketing purposes.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store personal information on our servers, there is generally no personal data associated with you for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may still have rights regarding any information you voluntarily send us, such as the right to ask what we hold about you or to request deletion of an email exchange. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
You can delete the locally stored search preferences at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling Ferry Finder from your device.
Children's Privacy
Ferry Finder does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app has no user accounts, no data collection, and no social or messaging features. If you believe a child has provided us information via email, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
